This is Me!
Hello! I’m Jessica Gabrielzyk, a Brazilian traveler with a passion for exploring the world and sharing stories. My adventure began after high school in São Paulo, Brazil, when I packed my bags and moved to Brisbane, Australia. There, I earned my bachelor’s degree and discovered the unique quirks of Australian life—though I’m still not brave enough to try kangaroo meat! However, I can confidently say I’ve mastered the art of enjoying a Vegemite sandwich (a true expat milestone).
After a decade in the land of koalas and kangaroos, my journey took a more global turn. From Portugal to Ireland and back to Portugal, I explored new cultures alongside my husband and our adventurous mixed-breed dog. Now, with a new addition to our family, we’ve settled in Switzerland, where I’m soaking up the beautiful landscapes and learning to embrace Swiss traditions (yodeling might be next on my to-do list—kidding, or maybe not!).
Author and Guide to Life Abroad
Traveling, meeting incredible people, and hearing their inspiring stories shaped my journey and sparked my passion for writing. These experiences motivated me to create a trilogy of books designed to help fellow adventurers thrive in their own expat journeys:
“Maternity Abroad” – A practical and heartfelt guide for navigating the challenges of maternity as an expat parent.
“Parenting Abroad” – A comprehensive resource for raising children in a foreign country, balancing cultural differences, and building resilience.
“Life Abroad” – A relatable and humorous take on the ups and downs of expatriate life, filled with practical tips and personal stories.
