The Launch of “Maternity Abroad”

I’m beyond excited to share that my book, “Maternity Abroad,” is almost here! This project has been a true labor of love, and I can’t wait for you to read it. Initially, the book will be available in English, with a Portuguese edition coming soon after. You’ll be able to get it in both epub and printed formats, whichever suits your reading style.

Why English First?

You might be wondering why I chose to write “Maternity Abroad” in English instead of Portuguese, my native language. Here’s why:

1. The Challenge: Writing in English was a personal challenge I wanted to take on. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me grow as a writer.

2. Inspired by Haruki Murakami: Haruki Murakami, the award-winning author, often talks about his writing process. He says that writing in a non-native language forces him to use short, simple sentences that are easy to follow. This approach resonated with me because I tend to be more philosophical in Portuguese. Writing in English helps me keep my prose concise and clear.

3. Educational Value: While studying for my bachelor’s degree in Australia, I learned the value of simplicity in writing. Using short, clear sentences and getting straight to the point makes the content more accessible. I wanted “Maternity Abroad” to be easy to read, even for those who may not have a fluent English vocabulary. So, if you’re learning English and want to challenge yourself, this book is designed to be approachable.
